TV and radio presenter and blogger Katy Hill shares her favourite holiday destinations
The Tower of David, Israel
As a child we generally holidayed in the West Country as my family is from that area. My dad takes Bible tours to Israel – he’s done 75 to date and counting. So we were lucky enough to go to Israel as kids. That was the first foreign holiday I went on, aged eight. I guess that’s where I caught the travel bug. I returned to Israel in a gap year, aged 18, and worked on a Kibbutz.
Years ago, my husband Trey and I went to French Polynesia with Princess. I was pregnant with my daughter Kaya at the time so couldn’t enjoy the seafood or bar but I loved exploring Bora Bora and Tahiti on our island days. Stuff of dreams, baby.
Santorini, Greece
We have recently been exploring The Greek Islands, which I love. We went to Kefalonia and Rhodes this year as a family and I love the laid-back approach of the Greek people. We could learn a lot from them with our frenetic lifestyles over here. I have done some amazing travelling for work: diving the Great Barrier Reef, flying with The Red Arrows in Cyprus and bobsleigh runs with the Olympic Team in Austria.
Northern Lights
Taking the kids to Lapland a few years ago was a magical holiday. It was exactly as you’d hope a trip to Lapland would be. The Northern Lights aside, to cruise to somewhere hot and gorgeous would be great. The possibilities with cruising seem pretty endless.
The Maldives
My favourite couple holiday was to Rangali Island in the Maldives. I still pinch myself sometimes, wondering if we actually went. As a family we went to Texas this summer. We have got friends there and I’m glad as I am not sure I would have ever gone otherwise – it wasn’t on my radar. It is now.
